ADMISSION OF YOUR PET

Your cat, dog, rabbit or other pet may have to come into the surgery either for a routine operation such as neutering or dental work or may require a non-elective procedure such as surgery following accident or illness. Either way we have a dedicated staff of nurses and vets to take care of him or her during their stay.
Most surgical candidates will be admitted in the morning between 8.30am and 9.30am, although we don't always have the luxury of choosing when our pet will
need surgical or more intensive medical attention. When they arrive you will check them in at reception and sign any necessary consent forms for surgery or treatment, check that their vaccinations are up to date and ensure that any surgical candidates haven't accidentally been fed before coming in. One of our nurses will then admit your animal into the wards and make them comfortable by providing a warm bed and anything else appropriate to his/her needs.

I will not lie on my blanket! Can't make me!

We do provide a warm blanket and a soft place to lie but as yet we haven't found a way to make the more determined patients lie on them. This picture illustrates our hygienic and easily disinfected hospital ward kennels.

We do have limited isolation facilities for animals who are not vaccinated but would urge everyone to try and appreciate the importance of vaccination (see "Vaccines" on the Navigation Panel - above), we also have isolation units for animals with infectious and contagious diseases.
