Welcome to the Blackness Veterinary Surgery Website.
We hope you like what you find
here. The page should be simple enough to navigate; using the buttons you
may access submenus covering the whole of the website. We have tried to
make sure that there is something for everyone, so there is a lot of information.
We are also continually updating the site so you will find some links which
are not yet active but which give you a clue as to up and coming features.
"About us", "In-Patients" and "Our Fees" will
take you to sections about the daily running of the practice, whilst "The
Staff" allows you to read about the people who work here and see what
they look like along with their animals in "Pets Gallery". "Location"
gives you hints as to how to find both of our surgeries if you're new to
the area or have not been here before, this can now be found in the "About
Us" section.
In the "Vaccines" section you can read up on why we vaccinate
our pets, which vaccines we use and, if you're interested, a bit more information
on the diseases we vaccinate our cats and dogs against. We have also included
some information on Rabies and the Pet Travel Scheme which allows us to
take pets to certain other countries without the need for Quarantine.
"Solve a Case" - If you would like to test your own knowledge or get an idea of what the vet is thinking when she or he sees your animal you could take a look at this section. If you would like to know more about caring for small pets other than cats and dogs, take a look at the "Small Pet Care" section... this section ranges from the common small pets such as Rabbits to the more unusual such as the Chinchilla, the Ferret and now the Degu. If you have requests for other small pet information, e-mail us and we will try and help.
"Fact Sheets" is an informative section which tries to provide details on common but often more complex illnesses and complaints such as Diabetes or Urine Marking through to Dental Disease. The aim of this section is to allow you to sit at home and digest the relevant information rather than trying to remember everything your vet tells you
"Funtime" is really a collection of miscellaneous items.... You can also see the staff making fools of themselves and their animals in aid of Comic Relief in the "Funtime" section.
All of our past newsletters are available to look at by hitting the "Newsletters" button.
If you would like to send us a message, clicking the "e-mail US" button will allow you to do this by opening up a message pad in your internet browser, Why not start straight away - click a button and get browsing.
Comments (constructive or critical) are welcome and we will try to respond where appropriate.
